Harbor House Inn Mendocino Elopement | An Intimate Restaurant Wedding on the Coast

Harbor House Inn sits on the Mendocino coast, right at the edge of the cliffs above the Pacific. Salt air, cypress trees, ocean as far as you can see. For couples researching Mendocino weddings, whether an elopement or a full-sized weekend wedding, it’s hard to beat.

Shannon and Aaron came in from New York. They chose a quiet Tuesday afternoon. No guests, the real schedule. Just the two of them, the gardens and coast, and a 5:45pm dinner reservation.

The ceremony overlooked the ocean. No décor, no setup. Their words, the view, their Rabbi - and that was enough. They signed their ketubah, shared a toast, and took their time with everything. We meandered with a glass of wine during portraits; scrambled down to the beach before dinner to dip our toes in the water. Made it back just in time for their private dinner - good example of what Mendocino restaurant weddings can actually look like when they're kept small and personal. The food is serious there, and the setting carries the evening.

We popped out mid-dinner for a few more portraits against the hills of Mendocino. They finished dinner, shared a private dance. The place, and the day, to themselves. The kind of day where a documentary wedding photographer thrives.
